LOCATION: Three Oak Hill Drive, The Grand Avenue, Savernake Forest SN8 3HP
Savernake Forest is an ancient forest situated just outside Marlborough and is the location for this workshop. The majestic ancient oaks offer a myriad of textures, colours and shapes. There is an abundance of wildlife, both large and small. Whatever the time of year, the forest is a feast for your lens. On this workshop you will be learning how to photograph wildlife whether it big or small. How to focus up close on your subject and explore how to be creative with your photography.
Savernake Forest has a rich and diverse range of wildlife and in this workshop we will be exploring the forest and taking photographs of what we might come across. Your tutors Helen and Gavin will show you how to setup your camera and explain so you understand what each settings are required for the different types of wildlife we might come across. A macro lens is a good lens to bring along. One to one tuition is given within the group and the tutors are happy to answer any questions you may have.
Beginner to Intermediate
The workshop is suitable for any level including beginners.
All participants receive tuition and support so that tutoring can be tailored to your individual needs and experience.
Each workshop is led by two tutors.
No prior knowledge of your camera is required.
Just bring your image capturing device – be it Phone, DSLR or Box Brownie. Well, maybe not the last one! Whichever way you capture your photographs, we’ll help you to elevate your images to a higher level. We’ll be exploring in the Forest so sensible comfortable footwear like walking boots or wellington boots are advised. Tripods can be brought with you if you wish and we will share our guidance with these if you do, but they’re not an essential part of this workshop.
As with all activities, we recommend that you bring sufficient water to last the time with us, so that you don’t get dehydrated. If you take medications, please remember to bring these too. Please ensure your device is fully charged, in addition to any spare batteries also spare storage cards, where necessary.
As our English weather can be inclement, please bring suitable clothing for the weather on the day of your workshop, as we will, in all likelihood still run the day – even poor weather conditions can make fantastic photographs.
